GEORGE TOLD ME I WAS HOT LAST NIGHT slipper chair n ottoman

I started writing this post several days ago
just as something was hitting me and hitting me hard,
which Ill explain at the end.
I completed this slipper chair with the help of
my sister awhile back, that post can be seen here.
The purchasers of this chair also requested a matching ottoman.
Taya and Matt are a lovely young couple and repeat customers.
I had the matching fabric and a couple of useful pieces waiting for redo.
The question would be ... would one of them work?
Attempt one, was too small,
Attempt two, was too tall,
Attempt three, was just right.
If you look closely you might realize this ottoman was made from
the only salvageable part of another arm chair, with great legs.
Ive been MIA for the last few days due to a case of severe strep
throat. If you have ever been afflicted with this condition I now
understand and sympathize. I couldnt talk, eat, swallow, and the
worst part for me was not thinking straight due to a high fever for
36hrs straight. After a midnight visit to the hospital and high doses
of medication, the doc says it will take a few more days till I
started to feel normal again and Im still having trouble eating and
drinking but Im definitely back, with a funny sounding voice.

I SHOWED GEORGE HOW TO GAIN 3 INCHES ornate night stands

Three inches to a night stands that is.
We all love the miss matched styling of shabby chic decor but most of us also
like to have a matched set of tables for our bedside.
Most vintage night stands are just too darn short for our current fat and luxurious mattress.
So thats where I step in and raise them up.
This pair of solid wood carved night stands started at 24 inches tall before
I installed a vintage set of casters, lifting them 1.5"
and a solid frame added under the top to raise them another 1.5".
Here they are on there way to be sprayed in ASCP Old White, before a coat of ASCP clear wax
then Minwax dark to accent all the detailing of these pieces.
Originally there were no handles on the doors, I have no idea how someone would ever
get the cupboard doors open with out taking the drawer out first and reaching inside.
Maybe thats why they were stored away in a shed and not used.
A side by side before and after pic can be seen here.

When George goes missing its a good bet hes found something
to buy for his grandaughters.
Sure enough here is where we found him.
At Kozy Koats Boutique owned by Joyce Daradics
set up at the Fieldstone vintage Market.
She specilizes in childrens wear made from vintage fabrics.
Recently she has started a line of robes made from vintage chenille for us semi-grown up ladies.
This is what George ended up picking.
